About These Layouts

TERMS OF USE

If you use any MySpace layouts from this site, you are obliged to respect the following terms of use.

They are very simple..

YOU MAY NOT:

1. You may not modify the layout code such that it causes the Iron Spider MySpace Layouts links cease to appear. By violating these linking rules, you fully understand that you are committing Copyright infringement, and you are in breach of contract - therefore SUBJECT TO LEGAL ACTION.
   
   Iron Spider MySpace Layouts links are defined as any hyperlinked text or any hyperlinked images displayed in Iron Spider MySpace layouts leading back to any web page on this site. There are typically two such preinstalled links per layout — one image link in the top left corner like this:
   
   
   
   ...and one text link in your 'About Me' box like this:
   
   Free MySpace Layouts by Iron Spider
   
   (The preinstalled text link may vary depending on which page you got your layout from.)
   
   BOTH THE IMAGE LINK AND THE TEXT LINK MUST APPEAR UNMODIFIED IN YOUR PROFILE IF YOU USE ANY OF MY LAYOUTS. <~PERIOD.
   
   By the way, two backlinks in a MySpace layout is not by any means excessive and is, in fact, the de facto standard for MySpace layouts across the web.
2. You may not redistribute any Iron Spider MySpace layout codes or Iron Spider MySpace background images either individually or as part of another MySpace layout or background collection WITHOUT MY EXPRESS WRITTEN PERMISSION.

Browser Compatibility

All my MySpace layouts were tested extensively online using the following web browsers:

• Internet Explorer 6 and 7
• Firefox 1.5 - 3.0
• Opera 9

I also have second-hand reports that my layouts are compatible with Safari on Macs. (Sorry but I don't have a Mac so I have to rely on user input and/or online screenshot services.)

If one of my layouts doesn't work, is causing you some problems or looks a little wonky, make absolutely sure that you have not used it in conjunction with any other MySpace layout code from another site. Please see how to install the layout for more information.

Colored Scrollbars

Many of my MySpace layouts are equipped with colored scrollbars (wheee!). Be advised, however, that Gecko-based browsers like Firefox, Netscape and Mozilla do not support scrollbar-*** CSS properties so the scrollbars will just look normal in those browsers. This is not meant to impugn these browsers and, in fact, you should be aware that the scrollbar-*** properties like scrollbar-face-color, scrollbar-arrow-color, etcetera, are not standard CSS.

If you're using Opera and you're not seeing colored scrollbars after installing one of my layouts (or anywhere else for that matter), make sure that you have enabled 'scrollbar styling' in your browser's preferences.

Here's how to do this:

1. Click on Tools » Preferences » Advanced
2. In the left column, click on Content
3. Click to check Enable styling of scrollbars
4. Click OK to apply the settings.

You should now see colored scrollbars.

Fast Loading Images

Although it's quite obvious most MySpacers don't give a flying crap about fast loading pages, great care was taken anyway to optimize (as much as possible) the background images used in my layouts for fast loading. If you want an original MySpace layout with a fast loading background (ideal for dialup users), check out the layouts on these pages:

On the other hand, be advised that the layouts on the following three pages have background images that tend to be a little on the hefty side ranging from about 80 KB (average) to 117 KB (highest):

In my defense however, compared to the average MySpace background image out there, 117 KB is still pretty lightweight.   :o)

Technical Support

No friend request will be refused (unless you're really unfriendly... *chuckle*...). And don't forget to include your MySpace URL in your support request otherwise there's not much I can do to help you.
